ReplyDeleteLove the sister friends pic, they are precious. Love the cooking classes and even the book readings, sounds like some fun activities to go do.
Your super swaddle does look like a good one! Can you give step by step directions?! Would love to try it.
Ummm I was gonna say something else but it was in the other post of pics and I can't see that right now. ha, oh well.
Great pics! Happy Holidays!
It was 2 more things actually... Love the old photo of Grams! Happy Birthday to her and Lilia!
ReplyDeleteAnd... I totally get the wanting to back to work pic! ha. There are moments and sometimes whole days when I am READY, next Sep. can't come fast enough. But I am sure once back, like you are now? You end up missing em... but still, I get it!
OK...so the swaddle that saved our lives. LOL. A mom that lives relatively close by came to show it to me. I was desperate since I could only get the lens in/out while Nicole was asleep.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing she taught me was that it was ok that Nicole fussed. She fought me hard but the mom told me that it was better just to get it in and then get back to cuddling, as opposed to stopping when she fussed and then coming back to try again and dragging it on forever. So I would just tell myself I had no choice but to get the lens in at that moment and I did. It took a few mins in the beginning and now I don't even swaddle her!
So the swaddle...I used an old towel but you can use anything as long as it has no give in it so they can't stretch themselves loose if that makes sense. I lay the towel down and put Nicole down in the middle of it. Then you take one side and go over the shoulder (that keeps them from being able to wiggle out) around the arm and then under her bum. Then I do the same on the other side. This way she is held in by her own weight. She can't move her arms but can definitely swing her legs. Now you have two hands free to stabilize the head against the table with your palm on their cheek. And two hands free to pry open the lids and get the lens in! Hopefully on the first couple of tries LOL
Make any sense?
LOL...Amanda....my kids are wonderful but my three year old has reached the stage of testing boundaries...and well, need I say anything about dealing with that and patching a grumpy teething baby?? Monday couldn't come soon enough!! =)
ReplyDeleteLet me know how the swaddle works out for you!
